Debug UI


Updated UI so the settings menu toggles based on the left controller's menu button.  Had to tie the script to an object that stayed active and added a binding for the toggle of the settings menu. 

Fixed the logic of the language settings to properly translate the word restart.

Player labels on automatic scoring are now language specific - was defaulting to French.

Removed the top of the ball return and replaced with generic shapes in Unity.  Something must have been corrupt there because it was causing massive frame rate slowdowns.

new bug - first frame is not setting the pins for the first ball.  oh joy! - 11/11/2024 - FIXED.  missing score numbers on score sheet.

future things to work on:

  • ball isn't looking much like a real ball - finger holes not matching how a real ball would be drilled.  
  • Player keeps gaining height when colliding with objects 
  • Game # should increment after each game
  • Players should be able to enter their names for multiple players.
  • Settings should save if the user wants
  • Settings should be specific for each player.
  • Instant replay would be cool - especially from the perspective of the bowling ball.
  • Reset buttons should work to reset the pin deck.
  • Should have option for players to use hand tracking or just controllers without the special ball and shoe controller holders.
  • Sound of ball return is double each frame - should just be on sound for that.
  • Light switch for scorers' table should work
  • Call button for scorers' table should work - allow players to practice spares over and over with voice commands to ask for pin configs.
  • Multi-player across the internet would be cool.
  • Ability to switch between controllers and hand tracking would be nice for manual scoring.
  • Overhead score keeping needs to be easier to write on.
  • Avatars would be nice - maybe simulate full body avatars.
